My blog – what next?

Our beautiful baby boy is here and already happily taking up all of our time, for which I am eternally and completely grateful.

I don’t feel the need to change this blog into a mummy/baby blog now. I started writing as a way of dealing with my struggles to have a baby and a byproduct of this was meeting many incredible women in similar situations, all dealing with our journeys and trying to make the best of things. I have tears in my eyes thinking of all of these women and how indescribably difficult our journeys have been. I don’t think the pain of loss/infertility ever leaves you, and I wish that everyone could have their happy ending, I really truly do.

I don’t think I’ll be posting regularly, if at all, but I definitely would like to be available for anyone who would like to ask about my journey, treatment etc, as some of the reproductive immunology treatment which I had was quite new and innovative, and I’d always be happy to share my experience where I could if it would help anybody else. I’m not a doctor, and won’t try to be, but I can just tell my story. Please just comment on my blog and I will reply.

Thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me on my journey, I couldn’t ever have imagined meeting so many supportive people, it’s been overwhelming. I’ll keep up with blogs regularly and am so hopeful for everyone who is still trying.

Here is our little bundle of happiness, our perfect, perfect boy.

  1. He’s absolutely beautiful!!! I’m still so beyond happy for you guys. I’m sorry that you won’t be posting anymore, but I understand. Now go and enjoy that precious little boy, and give him lots of snuggles from all your friends here!!! *hugs* ❤

  2. He’s adorable.

One comment I have is that we should be hopeful and wish each other the best regardless of whether we end up as parents. Unfortunately some of us won’t become parents. While that shouldn’t take away from those who do become parents we should be an inclusive community and support one another.

Best wishes on the next chapter in your journey.

  4. Congratulations!

I just wanted to ask what exact drugs you were on when you were trying with your baby boy. I am under the care of Dr Braverman in the US and Dr Sacks in Australia and Dr Braverman is adding Plaquenil to my medications for my egg collection next month. I will be on Neupogen, Plaquenil, Prednisone, Clexane, Metformin, Prog pessaries (400 x 2) and 3 x HCG Booster shots. I am wondering if I need to add in intralipids as I probably wont be using IVIG with the above. We are also considering Tacrolimus from 2 days before transfer to beta (will stop the neupogen to start this and then reintroduce neupogen if a positive). Thanks

    • Hello, sorry for the late reply, I’ve only just spotted this!

Here’s what I took for this pregnancy:

      – Metformin (for PCOS)
      – Prednisolone
      – hydroxychloroquine (plaquenil)
      – Progestrone
      – Intralipids
      – High strength vitamin D

I really hope this helps and that things work out for you. Please have a look through my blog and you can see more details on my treatment 🙂 xx
